Deep Tissue Massage - deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure
and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective
tissue surrounding muscles). It is mostly used for chronic aches and pain and
contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg
muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. -
Swedish Massage – This is the most common type of massage, and it involves soft,
long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on topmost
layers of muscles. Because of the light pressure used, is considered a relaxation
massage, but the benefits of Swedish massage go beyond relaxation. It can help
increase the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation and flexibility. -
Sport Massage – Like the Deep tissue massage, Sport massage uses a firm
pressure, focusing on muscles and connective tissue deep within the body but your
therapist will incorporate assisted stretching and the session could be focused
on a specific area of the body. -
Custom Massage – During your intake process and initial evaluation, your massage
therapist will be able to asses what would be the best massage for your needs and
blend all massage types and different techniques to address your needs. -
Prenatal Massage – this is an amazing opportunity for an expecting mom to have
some much-needed relief and relaxation. It also helps reduce swollen joints by
stimulating the soft tissues of the body to reduce fluids build up, and helps increase
the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation. -
Couples Massage – A couples massage allows two people to share a bonding
experience while relaxing. Each person can pick the type of massage they want. It
can be an intimate way to commemorate an anniversary, birthday, or other special
occasion or just a way to reconnect with your significant other. -
Hot Stone Massage (basalt) – This massage type is used to help you relax and ease
tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body. During a hot stone
massage, the techniques of a regular massage are applied however, the therapist
also works with hot stones that are placed on specific parts of the body or just used
as an extension of the therapist’s hands while applying different strokes. The stones are smooth and flat and usually made of the volcanic rock type called basalt which retain heat.
